In Collision, I wanted to explore the state of greed and jealousy which can arise from a hunger for power.
The horse in the film is naturally free, beautiful and strong. The man can't appreciate his state and feels that he must reinforce his might by curbing that of the horse.

The result is mutual damage and exchange, culminating in the birth of an ungainly hybrid creature, in which the man and the horse must be as one.
